On June 12th: How did you learn your skills?

We all went to universities to become Romance Writers, right? Not.

But we had to learn it from somewhere. How have you learned to hone your craft? What have been your go-to sources in your crusade to become a writer? Tell us about books you’ve read, writing classes you’ve taken, websites and blogs you’ve visited, mentors and teachers you’ve followed, workshops and conferences you’ve attended.  Everything you’ve needed to become the writer you are today.

Most importantly, come to learn how everyone else has learned it too!

See you at 7pm EST, 4pm PST at #RWCHAT

#RWChat on June 5th: Organizing Life and Writing

Working a day job, having a family, living a life, cleaning a house… and being a writer. Easy, right? Ha ha. Or maybe for you it is easy. Join us this week to talk about how we juggle our writing careers with living our daily lives. If you’re great at it, come share. If you’re…not so great at it… come commiserate.

See you on Twitter! Sunday 7 pm EST/ 4pm PST

Coming up on #RWChat… May 22nd: FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)

FOMO – it’s not a swear – though the frustration it causes may make us swear. The Fear Of Missing Out is a very real, very detrimental state of depression, caused by everyone seeming to have more success than you. Especially living on social media, it can be devastating to a writer’s morale in this business that involves so much rejection.

Join us with your questions and your fears – see you tonight at 4pm PST/ 7pm EST!

Coming Up on #RWchat… May 1st: How to hook readers

Hook, hook, hook! Not as in Captain Hook but not too far from it. We have to hook readers with our story, but how do we do it? From the blurb to page one to page fifty, our job is to hook the romance reader into opening the book and then turning the page again and again.

Come talk with us about what hooks have worked for you or what trouble you’re having with hooks. Maybe we’ll uncover the secret of luring the reader hook, line and sinker.

See you Sunday!

Coming Up on #RWchat… April 24th: What do you do when you hate what you’re writing?!

Thanks for an awesome chat on Voice tonight. Everyone had lots to say! (Pun intended :))

Next week we’re delving into something dark and terrible, something that every writer has experienced: What do you do when you’re totally hating on what you’re writing? Or are you the kind of writer this never happens to? (If so, please come tell us your secret!)

But if you’re like so many of us there are days, hours, weeks, months, where what’s happening in your current WIP just…looks like something you’d rather send to the scrap pile than let someone else read it. What do you do? How do you get through it?

Come with your questions, come with your woes, but most importantly, come to chat.

See you next Sunday!

Coming Up on #RWchat… April 17th: Voice

Today, we talked about our characters, how we develop them, how we relate to them, and how we keep them unique.

Next week, we’re going to tackle the illusive topic of VOICE. What is it? Why is it so important? We hear endlessly from editors and agents how they look for it, but how do we do it? Come share your unique “voice” on your process, and bring your questions too!

Coming Up on #RWchat… April 3rd: The Process of Pantsing

img_7395Which isn’t really a process at all, or…is it? This week on #RWChat we’ll discuss pantsing, or writing a novel “by the seat of your pants” without plotting or outlining.

Have you ever done “pantsing”? Are you a strict plotter? Are there any benefits to pantsing, or is plotting the better way to go? Does romance writing lend itself to one more than the other? Join us with your comments and questions, or just come to lurk.

Never done a Twitter chat before? Check out our FAQ.

See you on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. PST / 7:00 p.m. EST.
